Where is the birthplace of Peter Lindbergh?

Peter Lindbergh breathed for the very first time on 23 November 1944 in Lissa, Reichsgau Wartheland, Poland. He died at the age of 74 and was born under the birth sign of Sagittarius. Lindbergh has German nationality and is of white ethnicity.

Peter attended Berlin’s Academy of Fine Arts. He also attended the Kunsthochschule (College of Art) in Krefeld, North RhineWestphalia from where he studied abstract art. Similarly, he started to work with a photographer for two years.

Film Career

Lindbergh is also a film director. He has directed a number of films and documentaries. In 1991, he made the film Models, The Film starring Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Stephanie Seymour. In the year 1999, he made a documentary titled Inner Voices. It gained him an award of the Best Documentary Award at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the year 2000.

In 2008, he worked in the movie titled Everywhere at Once directed by Lindbergh and Holly Fisher.

 Music

He worked as a photographer for the movie The Hunger of 1983 and the album cover for the soundtrack. Next, in 2002, he photographed the movie poster for Talk To Her and later in 2011, Charlotte Rampling’s documentary The Look.

Lindbergh has photographed many other movie posters and album covers such as Jane Birkin’s single “Quoi” in 1985. Tina Turner’s single titled  “Foreign Affair” in 1990 and the album Foreign Affair in 1989. He also worked in the video clips for Turner’s single “Missing You”.

In the year 1998, he worked for the cover for Sheryl Crow’s The Globe Sessions as well as Beyonce’s album I Am… Sasha Fierce in 2008. He also made the video clip for Lionel Ritchie’s single “The Last Party”.

Awards

Peter received the Raymond Loewy Foundation Award in 1996. Lindbergh was also honored for his work by AIDS awareness at the annual amfAR New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in the year 2014.

Yes, the German photographer was a married man. He married his wife Petra Sedlaczek in the year 2002. The pair was happily together with their family. At the time of their marriage, Peter was 58 years old and he lived with her for 17 years until his death. He does not have any children with Petra.

Previously, he was married to Astrid with whom he appeared in the documentary Peter Lindbergh — Women’s Stories. The couple shared four children from their marriage and their names are Benjamin, Jérémy, Simon, and Joseph.

Photography Career

  • In 1989, he photographed many young models like Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington.
  • He then photographed the same models together for the January 1990 British Vogue cover.
  • Lindbergh released his first book, 10 Women in 1996.
  • In 1997, Lindbergh’s Images of Women were presented in Berlin by Hamburger Bahnhof. Later it was also exhibited in several museums like Milan, Rome, Vienna, and Hamburg.
  • Followed by touring Japan’s International Photography Festival in the years 1999 and 2000.
  • Later, Irina Antonova, the director at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts presented Lindbergh’s Images of Women to the museum in Moscow.
